NEW: LUXIMA GLOSS/TONER

New shine for Luxima.
With nearly 30 years of blonding experience, we know how to make lightening even brighter, longer lasting, and more modern. Glossy, glass-like hair is rightfully trending, and the beloved Luxima range deserved a glossy upgrade. Enter Gloss/Toner: next-gen shine shades that bring new brilliance to Luxima.

Targeted toning for light hair.
The Gloss/Toner range brings fresh trendy tones never seen in Luxima. It was created to complement and expand the line to meet the demands of today’s blondes and lightened hair.

One shade – two ways to create.
Luxima Gloss/Toner shades are a pigment-rich addition to hair toning and glossing, introducing a new color world to Luxima color services. The pigment structure of the Gloss/Toner shades reflect light even better, giving your clients shiny and vibrant hair. The shades have two purposes: as a glossing treatment, they tone the hair and maintain its brightness, and as a toning treatment, they provide stronger neutralization and beautiful color.

Glossing = a lightweight, shine-enhancing tone treatment to:

  • restore shine
  • refresh color
  • balance tone
  • boost color without adding depth

Toning = a corrective tone treatment to:

  • neutralize unwanted tones
  • create a desired tone on levels 7 and above (e.g. cool, beige, strawberry, pearl)
  • even out uneven bases, including regrowth
  • balance uneven lightening

Glossing or toning—how to choose?

  • Hair looks yellow or patchy after lightening → Toning
  • Hair tone is nice but looks dull → Glossing
  • Client wants a cooler look → Toning
  • Client wants just shine and a hint of freshness → Glossing

The choice is yours. The result is always stunning.

LUXIMA COLOR SYSTEM SHADE FAMILIES

An intuitive, ready-to-use system for creating dream hair colors.

Luxima Color System consists of seven clearly defined shade families, making it easy to create both soft and bold changes intuitively. You can darken or brighten hair, tone, enrich, refine, and refresh color. You can easily neutralize yellow tones, cover gray, pastelize, or intensify color. Best of all, you can adjust your result using different elements from the system, like Mixers or Base shades for enhanced coverage.

1. GLOSS/TONER
Pure, pigment-rich shades with no level—affect levels 7–10 broadly. Control the final look: adjust developer strength, timing, or pastelize with Luxima Clear. Duo swatches in the shade chart show pure and pastelized results side-by-side.

2. BLOND
Pre-mixed and muted shades that are hard to mess up! This shade family includes anti-yellow tones perfect for balancing and toning blonde hair. Use with BASE shades for toning virgin or untreated hair. For levels 7–9 and 8–10, with yellow-neutralizer built in. Creates natural, soft, subtle but radiant blondes.

3. BROWN
Deep, muted browns for refreshing or toning colored hair. Use with BASE shades to tone even virgin or untreated hair. For levels 4–6 and 6–8. Natural look and harmonious nuance. Perfect for maintaining color intensity without too much warmth. BROWNs preserve vibrancy without over-darkening.

4. MIXER
From cool to warm: you control the tone. Use as boosters or standalone, MIXERs are designed to complement all other families. Adds freedom and creativity to your color work.

5. PASTEL
Ready-made pastel shades for soft toning or pastelizing light blondes. You can also dilute other shades using the PASTEL family. Made for pre-lightened hair. Use alone or as an extension of BLOND shades. Luxima’s shine and clarity really pop in the PASTEL family.

6. EXPRESS
Quick shades for correction, toning, and finishing. Processing time is just 5 minutes! Great for quick fixes or maintenance. Natural tones for specific levels + selected light-correcting shades.

7. BASE
Coverage and balance. The BASE family is Luxima’s backbone! Use at the root, for gray coverage, or to support other shades. Can be used on its own or blended. A highly technical foundation for any color work

SHINE ENHANCE COMPLEX – REFLECTIVE SHINE WITH NATURAL OILS AND EXTRACTS

Four Reasons Luxima gets its crystal-like shine from our Shine Enhance Complex, which strengthens the pigments’ ability to reflect light, thanks to its nourishing, plant-based oils.

Limnanthes alba seed oil
Extracted from the seeds of limnanthes alba (meadowfoam), this oil highlights the hair’s natural shine, gives it texture and a soft feel.

Calendula extract
Known for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties, calendula extract is rich in moisturizing ingredients that make hair healthy and shiny.

Strength from vitamins
Vitamins E and C are antioxidants that care for hair, protect it from UV rays and improve the durability of the color. We only use plant-based vitamins.

CHOOSING THE TONE

Determine the natural depth level of the hair, as well as the depth level and tone of any artificial tone.
Determine the tone and translucence of the desired end result. If you want to achieve a multidimensional result, choose your Luxima tone according to the lightest part of the hair. If you are aiming for a more nuanced and tranquil result, choose the tone according to the darkest part of the hair.

TONE IDENTIFIERS
The tones are marked with numbers that indicate the depth level and character of the tone.

The first few numbers reveal where within the depth range the tone is, i.e. the amount of pigment in it. The latter numbers are based on the color star and denote the character of the tone.

  1. Ash
  2. Iridescent
  3. Golden
  4. Copper
  5. Mahogany
  6. Red
  7. Tobacco / Brown

E.g. 7–9.16 Smoky Rose / 7–9 = the depth level of the base that suits the color, and .16 = the character of the tone. Please note that the end result in lightened hair is 8 in terms of depth level; in other words, it is somewhere between 7 and 9.

MIXING RATIO

THE MIXING RATIO IS 1:2
(1 part color + 2 parts oxidizer)

Tip: If you are using an applicator bottle, mix in 1–3 squirts of Seal & Shine oil, which will turn the gel into an emulsion.

Choosing the oxidizer

Choose the strength of the oxidizer based on the current base and the tone used:

Use Four Reasons Oxid
Toning of colored or lightened hair 1,5 %
Darkening or evening out root growth using a BASE tone 3 %
Brightening root growth using a BASE tone 6 %

Application and processing time

Apply the color using generous sections, emulsify by massaging it in and leave to process:

Color Processing time
Luxima 15 min
Luxima EXPRESS 5 min
Luxima + Luxima BASE 30 min

After the processing time, emulsify, rinse and wash the hair.

LET YOUR CREATIVITY SHINE – TIPS FOR IMPRESSIVE RESULTS

Four Reasons Luxima is a fabulous aid for freshening up the vibrancy and shine of hair color, for example, in connection with a haircut. The product tones hair with highlights and strengthens the existing color without darkening the base.

Don’t forget these tips when using Four Reasons Luxima:

  1. By lengthening the processing time, you can boost the intensity of the end result. The longer the processing time, the deeper and more intense the result.
  2. Strong differences in hair porosity have an effect on the end color and emphasize the cool tones in the tone mixture.
  3. The amount of color used influences the intensity of the color result; by massaging the color into the hair throughout, you prevent the patchiness caused by an insufficient amount of color.
  4. When mixing EXPRESS tones with other Luxima tones, please note that by extending the processing time, you emphasize the tone’s depth.
  5. The BLOND tones already contain substances to counteract yellow undertones. If the base is completely pure blond, you can keep the breaking of the yellow in check by mixing in, for example, tone .13.
  6. Use BASE tones mixed in with other Luxima tones when coloring untreated hair. If you also want to color the root growth, for example, mix in either a dark or blond BASE tone with the Luxima tone according to the desired end result. Dark BASE tones increase the color’s coverage, whereas blond tones brighten and lightly break warm shades.
